Antique, French Book- Traité de Cosmographie

This antique, French book is in fair condition. There are condition issues, which I shall describe in detail. Please let me know if you would like more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.

The book was published in 1905 and consists of 129 pages with a constellation chart and 11 black and white photographic plates with protective tissues over each photo. There are no pages 125-126, but I somehow think they misnumbered the pages as there don't appear to be missing pages. The front and back boards have considerable wear.

The front and back pages appear to be stuck to the front and back boards. There is a name stamped on the first page, an inked "95" and a penciled number in the upper right corner.

The title page has a name in ink, the date and other unintelligible marks.

Pages edges have dog-earing and tearing.

The page with the printer has a name, date and perhaps a class. There is ink bleed on the preceding page.

Page one has a name inked twice.

There is inked underlining as well as penciled writing, the occasional owner's name in ink, and some inked dates on the following pages:

4-7, 9, 11, 12-18, 21, 23-26, 28, 31-33, 36, 37, 39, 40-43, 47-49, 55-57, 60, 69, 71, 77, 78-80, 82, 83, 95, 101, 103, 104, 107-109, 112-114, 123, and 124

The constellation chart is heavily creased on the folds and appears to be close to tearing unless it is reinforced. There is an unevenly cut paper, as seen in the seventh photo. It looks as if this is one portion of a mend that appears on another couple of pages as a strip that lays flat in the center.

Foxing and discoloration throughout.
