Antique, French Tissue Stereoview Featuring "La Tyrolienne" from "William Tell"

Sorry, this item has sold.

This French Tissue stereo view card is circa mid-1800s (produced during the Second Empire) and features a dance segment ("The Tyrolean") from the opera "William Tell" as performed by Les Théâtres de Paris. This stereo view card is unique because it has the addition of a special paper. When the card is held up to light, the black and white photo becomes colored (as seen in the first photo).

Condition: The photograph is in good condition with a small amount of rippling. There is also a spot, which appears as a white mark on the front and a depression on the back. This is denoted by an arrow in the last photo. The cardboard frame has some bowing so it does not lie flat.

The cardboard frame has unique designs with the manufacturer's name- B.K. (Adolphe Block) of Paris. Block published stereo views from 1863-1915. Dimensions are 7" x 3 ½".

Thank you for looking.
