This French baby fève is ceramic and measures 1 ⅛" in length.
CONDITION/PLEASE READ: Please note that the fève has what appears to be an indentation for a nose. I examined it closely with a loupe, and it does not look as if a nose were broken from the face of the piece. It just looks as if the nose were created solely with the indentation.
Fèves are ceramics or beans placed in the traditional French cake of Epiphany, the Galette des Rois, or the King Cake here in the States for Mardi Gras. Whomever finds the fève is crowned king or queen and has to pay for next year's cake.
This is an older fève, possibly antique, but of indeterminate age. Please use the zoom function to get the closest look at both photos as there is wear and discoloration commensurate with age. Do let me know if you need more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.
Thank you for looking.
