This cast is often attributed to K and O or Kronheim and Oldenbusch although this bookend does not have the K & O stamp.
This piece weighs almost four pounds and measures approximately 6 ¼" from Dante's cap to the bottom edge of the base. The base itself measures approximately 4 ¼" x 3 ½".
Please note there is only one bookend.
Please examine the photos carefully as the piece has damage as seen in the fourth photo. Also, there are areas where the paint has chipped, evident on Dante's robe and cap. Do let me know if you need more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.
I am not certain as to the composition of this piece. I do not believe it's a bronze but perhaps painted brass.
