This French cow fève is painted (possibly enamel) ceramic and has a base that measures 1" x ¾". Fèves are ceramics or beans placed in the traditional French cake of Epiphany, the Galette des Rois or the King Cake here in the States for Mardi Gras. Whomever finds the fève is crowned king or queen and has to pay for next year's cake.
This is an older fève, possibly antique, but of indeterminate age. Please note the cow does have wear commensurate with its age. Please use the zoom function to get the closest look.
