This antique (not a reproduction) French engraving of a hot air balloon is from the 1853 edition of Magasin Pittoresque. There is some creasing to the sheet as a whole, but the engraving is in good condition with some light brown foxing/climate spots, most visible in the sky behind the balloon. Do let me know if you would like more photos as I'll be more than happy to oblige.
The engraving depicts Monsieur L'Abbé Berteau and Monsieur Morvaux on their 6 hour and 25 minute trip from Dijon to Magni-lez-Auxone in April of 1784.
The portion of the page with the engraving measures approximately 6" x 6" if one were to trim the page to remove the engraving. The entire page measures 11.5" x 7.5".
