This French, Georgian era etching is from an 1827 edition of Le Journal des Dames et des Modes. It is hand-colored and depicts a hairstyle and dress of that era. The translation of the French description is: Crepe hat decorated with satin rolls, flowers and gauze ribbons. Naples dress. Embroidered tulle mantilla with cashmere flowers.
Dimensions are 8" x 5".
The etching itself is in very good condition, but the edges of the paper have tears and creasing. Also, there is some discoloration to the face of the etching, including a small brown spot to the right of the forward facing woman, near her shoulder.
