Vintage Triptych Folding Church/Advertising Fan from Harrington, Delaware; Circa 1930s

Sorry, this item has sold.

This vintage cardboard church fan is from Harrington, Delaware and has an advertisement for Warrington Furniture Co. Eva Warrington's husband, Arthur M. Willey, passed away in 1940 and Eva passed in 1952 so I'm dating this fan conservatively as being circa 1930s. Also, the three digit phone number is indicative of age.

Church fans were often used before the advent of air conditioning and they frequently had advertisements for local businesses, like this one. The front of the fans sometimes depicted religious themes or cute children, animals, and/or flowers.

Measurements are 10 1/4" at its widest x 6 7/8" when open and 4 3/4" at its widest x 6 7/8" when closed.

***Condition: Please note the wear from use. The tabs used to pull the fan open are very worn. There are fold lines from the cardboard being bent in the upper right hand corner of the closed fan as well as from the girl's arm into the grass. The open fan has fold lines on the upper right side and toward the lower edge of the dog's hindquarters. Please also note that all of the edges have some type of wear to them. Please examine the photos and do let me know if you would like more as I'll be happy to oblige.

Thank you for looking.
