Antique, 1827 Hand-Colored Etching of French Dress from Le Journal des Dames et des Modes

This French, Georgian era etching is from an 1827 edition of Le Journal des Dames et des Modes. It is hand-colored and depicts a hairstyle and dress of that era. The translation of the French description is: Crepe hat decorated with feathers and gauze ribbons. Chiffon dress with volans and tulle in between. Ribbon belt.

Dimensions are 8" x 5".

The etching itself is in very good condition, but the edges of the paper have tears and creasing. Also, there is foxing or staining to the left of the woman on the left. These marks appear near a hat ribbon and the upper part of her sleeve. Finally, there is a small tear, approximately 1/4" about 1/4" from the lower right hand edge of the etching. This tear is at the border and is superficial (does not go all the way through).
