According to https://www.porcelainmarksandmore.com/related/lorraine/saargemuend-01/index.php, this pot is from the time period between 1922 and 1955 so I'm dating it conservatively as being circa 1950s although it may be older. Made in Sarreguemines ("Terre a feu" actually means, quite literally, "land of fire" in French.), it bears a mark on the bottom as well as "France."
The pot is brown with cream interior and accents, and although I've seen it attributed as a terrine, most terrines are rectangular in nature. I believe this is more than likely a foie gras pot. The knob is ornamental and the two heads on either side of the pot are satyrs.
Measurements are 3" in depth in the interior and 3.5" in height on the outside. The mouth of the pot is 3 5/8" across. Circumference of the body of the pot is 13 1/4". With the lid intact, the pot measures in height 4" from the base to the edge of the lid. If taking into account the knob atop the lid, the height would be approximately 5 3/4".
Condition issues: Please note the chip to the edge of the opening in the seventh photo and to the knob on the lid (photo ten) as well as the repaired crack as shown in photos eight and nine. Also, please examine the body of the pot for wear and do let me know if you'd like more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.
Thank you for looking.
