Possibly produced by Thomas Mills, this two part hard candy mold bears no maker's mark. I've seen this mold attributed to the company, which produced candy making equipment and molds from the mid 1800s up to the mid-1940s. Pennsylvania was home to more than one candy making equipment and mold manufacturer as European immigrants who settled in this area brought candy making to the region. Barley candy or hard candy made with barley sugar was especially popular.
The 24 is the mold number. Some molds were comprised of tin and zinc (called composition), and others were made from lead, pewter, iron, and aluminum. I am unsure of the material used to produce this mold so I would advise not using it to produce edible food unless you are sure it is not made from pewter or lead.
Each piece measures 5.5" x 2.5.
