This Smardy the Fox hand puppet was manufactured by Steiff from 1964 until 1978 so I'm dating him conservatively as being circa 1970s.
This puppet is missing his Steiff tag and button in ear, but the rest of him is intact, including his whiskers and the tube in his head in which one would insert fingers to manipulate the head. Smardy's mohair is in good condition, and he has four paws and a large, bushy tail.
From the tip of one ear to the tip of his tail, Smardy measures 15".
