French Fève of Queen

Sorry, this item has sold.

*Please note that these fèves (translated as "bean" in English) are sold and priced individually. Please choose your selection from the drop down box. The queen, and cat are available. These were procured in a shop in the Marais of Paris.

The fèves are baked into king cakes (galette des rois or cake of kings) for the French Epiphany. Louisiana king cakes often have miniature plastic babies or beans inserted, and the person who receives the fève must provide next year's king cake.

I believe these are circa 1920s-1930s.

Measurements for the queen, rabbit, and cat are approximately 1" at their longest. The moon is 6/8" across. Each has varying degrees of wear. Do let me know if you need more photographs as I'll be happy to oblige.

Thank you for looking.
