This bell with a melodious peal is inscribed with the Latin phrase: Vocem Meam Audit Oui Meam Tangit (Whoever Touches Me Will Hear My Voice.) The bell is of indeterminate age. It also features a woman and animals with designs that look to be stylized sheaves of wheat. I've seen these bells attributed to French or Belgian production, and some have elaborate pieces affixed to the heads. There is a small hole atop the head so perhaps there was something affixed to this bell or it could've just been the hole from which it hung. These bells were used in churches as well as in homes.
Dimensions are 3 6/8" height with a mouth measuring 2 3/8" across.
