French, Le Vêtement Alba Ashtray from Boulevard Poissonnière, Paris

Sorry, this item has sold.

This ashtray is from a tailor's on Boulevard Poissonnière in Paris. The backmark, Sarreguemines, DV, was used from 1920-1950 (http://www.infofaience.com/en/sarreguemines-marks/category/41?start=80) so I'm dating this ashtray as being circa 1950s.

Translated, the ashtray reads: "The Alba garment gives a modern silhouette."

Dimensions are 5 6/8" x 4 1/4".

Condition: The graphics are crisp and clean with the exception of the wear on the word "Alba" and other areas of very minor wear. Also, there is a small, barely discernible crack as seen in the upper right hand corner of the back of the ashtray in the ninth photo and in the last photo in close-up. If you'd like more photos, please don't hesitate to ask.

Thank you for looking.
