**Please note that while the box has no chips, cracks or crazing, it does not stay open on its own. The hinge is loose and it looks as if there may be a split in the metal banding around the upper lid just above the hinge, but I cannot be certain. Please see photo five. While the hinge is still intact, the box opens and closes freely without the resistance of other Limoges boxes. The price reflects this issue.
Numbered 1154 in a limited edition of 5000, this box is signed with Artoria; CA, the artist's initials; peint main; and Limoges, France. The box is hand-painted and consists of a gingerbread house on a candy strewn base with a painted gingerbread man inside. The clasp is a squirrel and gold colored embellishments decorate the bottom edge of the box.
Dimensions are 2.25" across and 2" in height.
