Bigiotterie Il Giardino di Casamonti Fulvio of Florence 800 Silver Cat Figurine

Mischievous, playful kitty figurine for the lover of cats, silver and all things Italian!

This silver cat is marked with Fl for Firenze or Florence and the silversmith's number of 302. The silver purity mark almost looks like an 808, but I believe it to be the more common 800. This means the piece is 800 parts silver and 200 parts alloy.

Dating this piece: A fascist symbol used on Italian silver prior to 1944 was eliminated, and in 1968, a star was used to the left of the province abbreviation (Fl) and silversmith's number.

The silversmith, Bigiotterie Il Giardino di Casamonti Fulvio, began operations in 1957, so this piece could be dated from that year to just prior to 1968.

The cat measures 1" from the forepaw to the farther back leg. Height is approximately 1 1/8" from the farther back leg's paw to the tail tip.
