Sorry, this item has sold.

This antique fob seal is circa 1800s. I've seen it attributed to the Georgian era as well as to the Victorian time period so it could be dated anywhere from the early 1800s through the late 1800s. It is of unknown metal although it looks to be bronze. Height is 1" with the seal portion measuring ½" x ¼".

"God Speed the" with a picture of a plow is on the seal portion of this piece. "God Spede the Plow" is a medieval poem, and the phrase has been used myriad times since to symbolize the ease and success one wishes for in any endeavor.

Please note the wear marks on the sides of the seal and do let me know if you'd like more photos. I'll be more than happy to oblige.

Your seal will be sent via Priority Mail.

Thank you for looking.

I’ve been looking for an interesting fob for my collection and I love this because of the phrase “God speed the plow” which is one of my favorite sayings from the past. Hopefully, having it may give me good luck.
