This handmade, Swedish, wooden desk is marked with an incised "Minne från Visby," which translates to "Memory from Visby," and contains an obituary for a Hudson Valley resident who was born in Sweden, Axel O. Nelson.
Dimensions are 5.75" x 3" with a height of 2.75".
Please note that the desk stands at a slant, and the paint exhibits considerable wear, especially the scene on the lid, which I believe to be hand-painted but am not certain. Also, there is penciled writing inside the desk as well as under the lid. I've not removed these marks but will leave this up to the discretion of the new owner.
