Vintage Metal Handkerchief Box with Handkerchiefs

This vintage handkerchief box is comprised of metal and has a lid that measures 5 3/4" square and a base that measures 5 1/2" square. Depth is 1.5". Height, measuring the foot of the box to the lid, is 2".

The box and seven handkerchiefs are included in this sale. The handkerchiefs appear to be cotton, linen and possibly lawn with some having embroidered designs and trimmed edges.

Please note that the box has light (as in lighter than the rest of the box, so they are readily visible) spots on the lid, as seen in photo two, where there was discoloration that I cleaned with a damp Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. The underside of the box has some spots that are rough to the touch, as seen in the fourth photo at the top of the box. Also, please examine the sides of the box for scratches and surface wear, particularly the seventh photo. Please use zoom function when examining photos. The handkerchiefs are vintage and have discoloration as well as what look to be climate stains. There are also inked numbers in the corner of one of the handkerchiefs as seen in the third photo on the upper right handkerchief. The hankies are clean and pressed, but again, please be aware that they are definitely vintage. Please use zoom function when examining photos.
