Antique Columbia Family Scale

Sorry, this item has sold.

This scale was produced probably around the turn of the century. Even though there is no manufacturer shown on the piece, it can be attributed to Landers, Frary & Clark, who produced the Columbia Family Scale.

This scale looks to have been touched up paint-wise, especially on the face, but it still retains its shabby chic, primitive, country, farmhouse look because of the wear, peeling and rust present on the entire piece. The hand on the scale's face has a slight bend to it, particularly when viewed from the side. The platform tilts as well and is not perfectly straight/level.

Please do not expect this scale to be accurate for weighing items, although it comes pretty close, give or take a couple of ounces. The top platform rotates, and the screw could probably be tightened or replaced. This scale is more for decor.

The platform is 5.5" square. The base is 7" x 5.5". Height is just about 8.75".

Thank you for looking.
