Black hard cover that shows wear. Bumped corners and edge/shelf wear. Stain on back of book cover that might be able to be removed. Fading on spine. Foxed and discolored page edges when book is viewed closed. Tight binding but front and back boards open easily and stay open. Foxing throughout on page borders. Penciled writing on inside back cover. Plate II and Plate V are partially shaken from binding and there is yellowing on blank backs of the illustrated pages.
Smudge about 3/4” down page and wrinkle to top of page xiii. (Please see last photo.) Some wrinkling (Similar to that shown in last photo on page xiii.) to the inner page edges (closest to spine) on pages 167-172, 185-188, 233-236, 249-252, 279-284, 295, 298, and 313-315. Please note that these faint wrinkles do not detract from the text and appear to be stress lines from the way the book was handled previously. If you'd like more photos of the book and its pages, please do not hesitate to ask as I'll be happy to oblige.
Small (approximately 1/16") spot at top of page 217. Diagonal stain on top right inside edge of page 218. 1/4" what looks to be light brown ink at top of page 247.
