This antique Halloween postcard features art by Frances Brundage and was published by Raphael Tuck and Sons, circa 1910. It depicts a couple playing "Apple on a String," a game that is similar to but more difficult than bobbing for apples.
The edges do have some wear along with what appears to be a portion of a cancelation mark along the upper left side of the card. There is embossing around the entire perimeter of the card, and "Design Copyrighted by Raphael Tuck & Sons Co. Ltd." is in the lower right hand corner.
The back has an addressee; city and state; a postmark from Oct 29, 1910; the Tuck logo in two places; "printed in Saxony;" "By Appointment with the royal crest;" and "Art Publishers to Their Majesties the King and Queen;" along with the Tuck & Sons name, the title of the postcard (Hallowe'en) and the number (174) in the series.
