These Art Nouveau era, antique, expanding bookends are cast iron with a brass-toned finish. There is rust and a patina, but these will not be cleaned as I like to leave this up to the discretion of the new owner.
The 5" x 5" squares have foliage designs and a satyr, bird, and fox hidden within the flora. The measurement with the piece pushed in as much as it will go is 8 ¼". When expanded, it measures 14 ¼".
