This antique set of brass and mother of pearl opera glasses was made more than likely in the early part of the 20th century, but they could be a bit older or a bit newer as I do not have a definitive date of manufacture. They're in very good condition with clear, scratch free lenses and intact mother of pearl inlay.
The glasses measures 2 1/4" in height. When the lenses are fully extended (by turning the center wheel), the glasses measure 3 3/4". The eyepieces each have "Colmont, FT, Paris" and two six-pointed stars with a "C" and dot within the C in each star. They measure 3 1/2" across the top portion (through which one looks) and 4 1/2" across at the other end.
The case is more than likely leather and is missing a handle from the top portion. I believe the closure is missing a piece but it closes to so that the case is completely shut; it's just not securely closed so care should be taken not to upend the case when carrying the glasses within it. The lining is quite possibly silk and in very good condition with respect to wear and uniform vividness of color.
