Primitive Wooden Pin Doll

Sorry, this item has sold.

I believe this could very well be an antique. It is a wooden doll used to hold pins and tiny spools of thread. There are two pins nicer than the others, one that looks like a peace lily and another like a pearl. Although both have pearlized lusters, I do not believe they're made from sea or freshwater pearls.

In researching an American Indian woven scissors case (listed separately in my shop), I came across this site: http://www.cherrygallery.com/journal/?s=SCISSORS+CASE

If you look at the wooden basket making tools, the piece on the right looks as if it could comprise such a doll as I have listed here. Could this be made by American Indians? It is a mystery!

This unique doll measures 3 ¾" in height and just about 1 ¾" across her base.

Your doll will be insured for the full value and sent via Priority Mail.
