This French-made pot has an interior glaze and a glazed lid over terra cotta. The rest of the pot is unglazed. The interior of this well-used vintage pot has chips to the glaze where a blackish grey shows through on the bottom.
Vallauris was produced for centuries in the South of France near Cannes. There are two potter's marks, one on the inside of the lid and one on the side of the pot, along with the number "16" for the size of the pot.
The circumference of the pot is approximately 21". The base measures 6 ½" across, and the lid measures 6 ¼" across. The depth of the pot is approximately 3".
