Pinecone Gnomes

Sorry, this item has sold.

A Very Vintage Christmas: Holiday Collecting, Decorating and Celebrating by Bob Richter shows similar pinecone gnomes that were made in Japan in the 1950s. I believe these are also made in Japan and probably circa 1950s. There is a faint stamp on the bottom of one gnome that looks to be "Japan." They do look to be a bit older as they are not (and I don't believe they ever were) as brightly colored as the 1950s gnomes, but I will err on the side of caution and place them at circa 1950s.

These three gnomes have various imperfections, and they're quite fragile, owing to their age and composition. The gnome with cymbals has a tear in his hat, as evidenced especially by the last photo. Do let me know if you'd like more photos as I'll be happy to oblige.

Each gnome is approximately 3 1/2" from the tips of their hats to their bases. The bases are 1 1/8" across.

Thank you for looking.
