This stick pin was made by the George L. Paine Company, who operated between 1909-1922 so I am conservatively dating this as being from the 1920s.
The stem has GLP CO on it, partially obscured by the top embellishment.
It does not have a gold mark on it so I am not certain if it has gold in it. The stone looks to be a ruby, but it's not been tested.
There is no end cap, but these can be purchased.
