The Drama of the Forests by Arthur Heming

Sorry, this item has sold.

This work of nonfiction is by Arthur Heming and details a portion of his travels through the Great Northern Forest.

He writes: I travelled twenty-three times through various parts of the vast northern woods, between Maine and Alaska, and covered thousands upon thousands of miles by canoe, pack-train, snowshoes, bateau, dog train, buck-board, timber-raft, prairie-schooner, lumber-wagon, and "alligator."

And continues: Thus it has taken me thirty-three years to gather the information this volume contains, and my only hope in writing it is that perhaps others may have had the same day-dream, and that in this book they may find a reliable and satisfactory answer to all their wonderings.

This book was copyrighted in 1921, and this particular edition is from 1924 and by Gundy of Toronto, as evidenced by the name at the bottom of the spine. The illustrations are all intact as are all 324 pages.

Condition: The book cover has some chipping on the spine's edges, and the spine in particular has some darkening as well as fading. The cover has wear and the binding is very loose and almost separating although it is still intact. The front page has a name penciled in cursive and the front cover that faces this page has what looks to be a tear in the paper that covers the front inside cover. See photo five for this description.

Your book will be sent Media Mail unless you specify otherwise.
