This is a highly unusual cabinet card photograph of a young boy with leg length discrepancy, a brace and a special shoe. Perhaps he was a victim of polio, but we, unfortunately, do not know for certain.
Charles A. Rowse is listed as a photographer in a 1906 NYC directory. On the back of the cabinet card, it reads that Rowse is the successor to Lickman, who appeared in a 1902 city directory. So, I'm dating this as being early 1900s, also taking into consideration the boy's clothing.
The cabinet card is 7.25" x 5.25". Please note areas of wear in the photos I've provided and don't hesitate to ask for more photos.

Really loving this cabinet card. It's got lots of character and is a welcome addition to my collection.
