JM Childs & Co Antique Three Panel Folding Trade Cards

Sorry, this item has sold.

This three panel series of folding trade cards is an advertisement for JM Childs & Co of Utica, New York. The series was published by Richmond & Company of Buffalo, NY, and the copyright date listed on the cards is 1886.

Three stages- Desperation, Reparation, and Restoration- are depicted on three separate cards using owls and frogs to illustrate these stages.

The back of the series has wear and remnants of paper to which the panels were more than likely glued. Perhaps this series was affixed to a scrapbook page as was often done with trade cards and other unique advertisements during the Victorian era.

The seams of the cards are worn from folding and unfolding so it would be advisable to keep this item stored or displayed open and flat.

Measurements are 9 ⅛" x 5".

Thank you for looking.
