These two buttons are circa 1800s.
The smaller of the two is 9/16" and is of a textured metal dyed red. The textured area on the front of the button almost seems like material. There is a cut out star shape in the center of this small button.
The other button is approximately ¾" across and has a hollow back with a loop shank.
