This possibly antique magic lantern slide was made by James Huntington of 610 St. John's Place; Brooklyn, NY. James Huntington was born in February 1881 in New York and was already advertising at the age of 18 in an 1899 edition of Harper's Round Table for double plate holders that would fit a Rochester Camera Company camera (https://books.google.com/books?id=vG5PAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA542&lpg=PA542&dq=james+huntington,+harper's+round+table&source=bl&ots=zb8I12DVAg&sig=1hYOO-_m39r5Wh66ZLLigwbeStY&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjNqbC9qd3RAhWBOiYKHb4pC9cQ6AEIHDAA#v=onepage&q=james%20huntington%2C%20harper's%20round%20table&f=false)
Paul Monroe, PhD, was a professor and author who wrote the book History of Education, which was copyrighted in 1907.
The three aspects--- physical, intellectual and spiritual are portrayed in this illustration, which was created with a nod to Dante's Divine Comedy. I am reminded a bit of Gustave Doré's woodcuts.
The slide is 4 x 3.25 and suitable for framing in a double glass frame or for use with a magic lantern.
