This ovoid Italian paperweight has an orange and green (or red and green, depending upon the light in which the piece is viewed) spiral and a "Made in Italy" sticker with what looks to be the number 40358.
There is a very small chip on the very edge of the smooth base, barely noticeable with the naked eye.
The weight is substantial, registering at 3 pounds and 14.7 ounces. Its base is 3.25" across and the circumference is a little over 12.50" at its widest. It is almost 6" in height, measuring along with the curvature.
As for age of this paperweight, according to The Glass Gallery Blog, weights with polished flat bases are of more recent origin so while I believe that this is vintage, it is not an older piece.
