Antique Doll's Chaise

This doll's chaise is upholstered in a brocade or brocatelle fabric with two different fabrics used. Fringe borders the perimeter. One might also say the fabric is similar to a woven tapestry. The piece does have wear at the seams, and the fabric used on the bottom does not have anything to support it so that fingers pushed against it could result in its tearing. This item would not be suitable for a child because of its fragility. However, it is still sturdily constructed with wooden spools for legs. Nails were also used in this piece's construction. Note the detail in the fourth photo of the upholstered button, which also appears on the other side of the chaise.

I'm estimating that this chaise is circa late 1800s.

The dimensions are 17" in length and 6" across.
