This book is an original and not a reproduction. The front and back covers, probably of silk moire, are in poor condition and worn with some of the material peeling. The spine is worn and peeling and in poor condition; however, it is intact. The inside front cover and inside back cover as well as the pages facing the covers also appear to be silk moire.
There are 12 beautiful color illustrations depicting scenes from Dickens' works as well as quotations with the works to which they're attributed. The illustrations are in very good condition with slight, if any, wear. The book consists of the months of the year with the days and lines for names to be written to remember birthdays. There are names written in pencil and fountain pen ink throughout the book but not on every page and not on every line.
There is an inscription:
To Janet, From N.L.
"Happy New Year".
The book was published by DeWolfe, Fiske, and Co. of Boston in 1904.
