A Son of Mother India Answers by Dhan Gopal Mukerji

Sorry, this item has sold.

This book, published in 1928, is a rebuttal to Katherine Mayo's Mother India of 1927. The latter is a book that, according to Amardeep Singh, Associate Professor of English at Lehigh University, "had a huge impact on American and British views of India in the late 1920s."

The appendices of this 114 page book include a correspondence from Rabindranath Tagore.

The front and back covers have wear, especially on the back's upper right hand corner. There is wear on the spine and wear within the book where the pages look to be separating (but have not yet become separated). The back inside cover of the book has 150 written in pencil in the upper left hand corner and a sticker from McDevitt-Wilsons Inc. Books at 30 Church Street in New York. Pages have slight dog-earing.

Thank you for looking.
