This flax linen antique (dated 1924) grain sack is stamped on the exterior and interior. The interior has, in Italian, "Seme Garantito, Trattato-Non per l'Alimentazione," which means, guaranteed, treated, not for consumption. The exterior is stamped "National Biscuit Company" (which later became Nabisco) and "Bemis," the latter of which is the company that produced the sack.
It is likely the sack was originally used for flour (Nat'l Biscuit Company) and then re-purposed to hold treated seed by the Italian business.
*****Condition: Please note that this sack has extensive wear and repairs. Also, some of the interior Italian text is not legible owing to fading. Please examine all photos carefully and do let me know if you would like more as I'll be happy to oblige. Please note, also, that this sack should not be used for foodstuffs.
Dimensions are: 39.5" x 17.5".
