Large Keeneye Boudoir Doll

This is a large Keeneye doll, probably produced by W-K-S Inc (William Gluckin & Company Inc., featuring patents associated with Victor Keney.) Some Keeneyes have real or synthetic eyelashes and some just have dramatically painted features. This doll displays the latter. She wears a crinoline-type dress with voluminous skirt of layered ruffles. Her head, neck/breastplate, arms and lower legs/feet are composition. Her body, arms (down to the hands) and legs (down to the composition portion) are stuffed with what feels like batting. Older dolls may be stuffed with excelsior.

Dimensions from top of hat (head) to heel of foot, approximately 27". Head circumference is approximately 11.5".

I have used a damp tissue to wipe the doll's face and neck, but soiling still remains here and on other areas comprised of composition.

There is crazing, particularly to the face. Please see photos 7, 8, 17, 18, and 19.

There is an area of missing paint (seen most clearly in photos 8 and 18.)

Not shown in photos is missing paint to the heel portions of both shoes. If you would like, I can photograph them and message them via Etsy.

There is loss to the hat's fabric as well as discoloration. The clothing has soiling/discoloration. I have not removed her hat.

I am not entirely sure of the wig's condition other than there are loose strands that appear to be tied. I don't know if the doll is lacking hair on one side (save for the one strand) or if the style is that most of her hair is gathered on the right side of her head.

When one tips the doll, there is a rattling of something in her interior. I don't know what this is. I've seen these rattlings attributed to the manufacture of the doll or a repair where a broken piece wasn't retrieved when the doll was being repaired. This doll doesn't appear to have been broken, though.
