Art Nouveau, Lion Dish, Attributed to the American Radiator Company

$85.00

This dish was purchased from Belgium and depicts a roaring lion. It is not cast iron, and it was advertised as being bronze, but I am not certain of the metal content. It has a significant heft to it, weighing 14.5 ounces. There is a marked patina to the piece. It is probably circa early 1900s and has elements of the Art Nouveau period.

This design is often attributed to the American Radiator Company, and while I've encountered pieces marked as such, this piece is not. If one examines the back of the dish closely, there appears to be lettering, but it is not legible. Please see the last photo where the arrow is pointing to the supposed lettering.

National Radiator Company did expand into Europe so it's possible this piece was produced there.

Dimensions are approximately 6" x 5".

Thank you for looking.
