This antique, carved meerschaum devotional piece is from Belgium and is signed by Hauser. I am not certain of the original provenance of this carving nor of the nationality of the sculptor.
The sculpture features the Virgin and Christ Child before a tree and two devotees kneeling at the base of the tree. I believe this is a representation of Our Lady of the Oak. Dimensions are 2.75" x 2.25" at its widest. There is a hole in the metal by which to hang the piece.
*****Condition: Please note that the carving has wear and discoloration and is not covered with glass as some of these carvings are. Also, the metal frame has wear in the form of denting, bending, scratches, and discoloration. Please examine the photos carefully using the zoom function and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige.
