French Les Feuilles Absinthe Spoon, Circa 1860s-1900s

This French "Les Feuilles" (The Leaves) absinthe spoon is comprised of steel and measures 6.25" in length.

*****Condition: Please note there is wear in the form of scratches and discoloration owing to its age and usage. Please examine the photographs and do let me know if you would like more as I'll be happy to oblige.

This is an antique and not a reproduction.

Manufactured 1860s-1900s. There is a stamp on the back of the handle that reads "Metal Aciere Français," which means it is steel that is made in France.

Les Feuilles #1 (French for "leaves") absinthe spoon is found on page 72 of Marie-Claude Delahaye's book "Les Cuilleres" (French for "Spoons") and is rated a one star absinthe spoon. Marie-Claude is the owner and curator of the "Musee de l'Absinthe" outside of Paris. She has also authored a series of books relating to all aspects of antique absinthe ware. The book "Les Cuilleres" comprises a comprehensive selection of most all antique absinthe spoons ever made. This is the only reference book on the market and considered the bible for antique absinthe spoons.
