This pendant is comprised of a staurolite crystal, which was found in Brittany, France. It is in the shape of a cross, which is a common shape in which to find these crystals. They are not prevalent throughout the world and only exist in certain regions. They're known as fairy stones, the cross of Brittany, and fairy tears, as well as by other names.
Many of these crystals are millions of years old.
Please refer to this site for more information on staurolite; https://web.prm.ox.ac.uk/rpr/index.php/object-biography-index/19-prmcollection/824-staurolite-crystals.html
This pendant measures approximately ¾" x ½", not including the bale. I am not certain of the metal content of the bale, but I don't believe it's silver.
