Reflection. Mary, the Queen of Heaven and sovereign of the world, weeps, overwhelmed with sadness, standing at the foot of the cross where her divine Son is attached, crucified for the salvation of the human race. The dejected soul of this tender mother is pierced by the sword of pain, at the sight of the anguish of this beloved Son. Let us contemplate this heart-rending spectacle of Jesus Christ, dead by horrible torments for the sins of men.
Prayer. O Virgin Mary, mother full of love, grant that I may share your pain and weep with you, that my heart may be ablaze with the love of Jesus, so that I may think only of pleasing Him and that every moment of my life may be sacred to his service, and that when I die, you may obtain for my soul the glory of the heavenly homeland. Amen.
