This rare antique ice cream mold manufactured by the French firm of Letang Fils and circa early 1900s is comprised of a weighty metal, probably pewter. The mold is marked Letang Fils, 108 R. Vielle du Temple, Paris along with the mold number- 2037.
This ice cream mold differs from a chocolate mold as it is one hinged piece (instead of two separate pieces) with two clips that are not separate but attached to the mold. Also, the bottom is not open as it would be for a chocolate mold. Both clips are secure. The mold measures 4" (from the pointed tip of mold to bottom of clip) x 2" at its widest.
