Agnus Dei, Ad Crucem, and Heart Reliquary Scapulars and Cross Reliquary Scapulars from Belgium

$25.00

*****Please note the scapulars/reliquaries are sold individually. Please use the dropdown box to choose which scapular(s) you would like to purchase. Prices vary. Please read the descriptions of each of the five scapulars/relics and do let me know if you need more photos or require more information.

1) The first two photos depict an Agnus Dei scapular with a wax relic (a small bit of wax from the previous year's Easter candles). Please note that the "Agnus Dei" has discoloration, probably from the wax. The textured blue scapular measures 2 ¼" in length, not including the cord loop, and 1.5" at its widest.

2) The next two photos show a stitched felt heart, possibly a reliquary. It measures 1 1/16 across at its widest and approximately 1" in length. There is a small cord by which to hang the scapular. There is light wear to the heart and to the cord.

3) This is a stitched leather heart with an inked AD, probably meaning Ad Crucem (Toward the Cross or To the Cross), and an inked cross. The leather has wear and soiling. There appears to be a relic within, visible in the center and along one edge. Please see the sixth photo, lower left edge of heart for this. Dimensions are 1 ¼" x 1 ⅛". There is a small cord by which to hang the scapular.

4) This ⅞" x ⅞" reliquary has a piece of material or a piece of paper. I do not have an attribution for this relic. The reverse depicts Christ and Mary with the Infant Christ Child. The cross has wear and some discoloration to the metal, which is unknown. There is a bale by which to hang the cross.

5) This ⅞" x ⅞" reliquary has a piece of material touched by Saint Louis-Marie Grignion de Montfort. This priest lived 1673 to 1716 and is known for furthering the study of Mariology. He was born near Rennes in the Breton village of Montfort. The reverse shows a medal of the saint. The cross has wear and some discoloration to the metal, which is unknown. There is a bale by which to hang the cross. It is bent in the center so that it resembles an "8." I don't know if this was how the bale was originally manufactured or if this was done at a later time.
