This Constable puppet from Punch and Judy is circa 1930s and probably German in origin although it was acquired from Belgium. It features a carved and painted wooden head, a felt body and linen or cotton hands. The puppet is 10 ¾ in height from the very top of his hat to the bottom edge of the felt. The arms measure 7 ¾ from one hand to the other.
*****Condition: Please note there is paint loss to the head (front and back and sides). Also, the felt is detaching/ripping from around the neckline and one of the hands (in the last photo) has ripped stitching. Additionally, there is overall wear to the material as well as fading. There is one yellow bit of felt on the front, and I am not certain if there were more. Please examine all of the photos carefully and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige.
