Hand-painted porcelain oval of Virgin with stars enclosed in a Black Forest frame. Circa 1890s. From France but exact provenance is unknown.
Dimensions: Frame approximately 5" x 4". Oval approximately 2 ¼" x 1 ¾".
*****Condition: Please note that both the painted porcelain and the frame have some wear. The frame's easel stand has chipping. Please see the sixth photo. The reverse of the frame has damage to the wood panel holding in the porcelain, particularly to the right edge as seen in the seventh photo. There also appears to be a chip to the central portion of the uppermost flower. Please refer to the third photo for a closer look. The fifth photo shows damage to a lower right leaf. Please examine all photos carefully and do let me know if you need more as I'll be happy to oblige.
