This WWI era French trench art letter opener is dated 1914-1918. It has a Maltese cross at the end of the handle and foliage embellishments as well as other decorations, including stars and "Champagne" carved in script. It measures 7 ⅝" in length, has a sharp point and is probably comprised of copper.
*****Condition: Please note that there are scratches and wear commensurate with use (probably owing to the original use of this piece of metal that was eventually fashioned into this letter opener).
